  • Monday Evening Community Meal

    Sign-Up

Thank you, to all who have donated, served, or delivered for our Monday Night Community Meal over the past months. None of this would happen without all those who have taken the time to help! There are approximately 150 meals being served each Monday to those in our community who may not otherwise have a hot, home-cooked meal that night. Deliveries are being made to a number of apartment complexes primarily serving our older generations for a total of 100 meals. Interested in helping? Sign up here.Sign up here.

  • Helping Local Agencies

    Bidwell, Impact, Sunny View

Impact Ankeny and Bidwell Riverside continue to be inundated to keep food on their shelves for their clients. They desperately need food and personal care items. If you'd like to donate items, but need help getting them to the church, contact the church office (515.964.4249) and we'll send someone to pick up your items. Both agencies would also appreciate financial donations.

Give some encouragement and love to the 78 Sunny View residents missing their families by sending cards and letters. The cards can be dropped off at the brown card table in the front foyer at Sunny View to the attention of “Michelle In Activities.” The recipient of the note can be addressed as: A Sunny View Resident or Dear Sunny View Friend.

  • JULY MISSION OF THE MONTH

School Supplies & Christmas in July

    July Mission of the Month

    1. We are collecting money and school supplies for the Ankeny Fresh Start program. Monetary donations are needed most, but you may also purchase items from school lists found at most local retail stores. Backpacks full of supplies are given out in early August to students that have difficulty purchasing them themselves.

    2. Christmas in July – This senior outreach project is the opportunity to find ways to connect with seniors in our community who may or may not have family support. The focus is extending Christian love and compassion in acts of service and random acts of kindness. For Christmas in July, we would like to collect the following: large print puzzle books, puzzles, coloring books, colored pencils, hand held games, emery boards, unscented lotion, hand sanitizer (trial size), chap stick, non-skid socks, Kleenex (small purse size), cards with personal written notes (thinking of you, etc.) and window cling decorations.

You can give monetarily by writing “July Mission of the Month” in your check memo, or give online (www.ankenyfirst.org/give.htm).

  • BUILDING UP OUR PROPERTY MINISTRY TEAM

    SKILLED WORKERS ALWAYS NEEDED

The church is always in need of skilled labor to help our buildings and grounds remain safe, clean, and maintained. If you have experience (professional or DIY), this is a great opportunity for you to be in service with your church family so that we can focus on the ministry that happens every day at our facilities. The Property Ministry Team is an important, on-going ministry in our church.
